JEA will elect a President-elect, Vice President-elect, and Board-elect for the new east-side Association when we return to school next fall. We expect these new officers to work closely with the new Board of Education to plan for the new district.  Please consider running for office.  These offices will start their regular terms when the district divides (July 2009).

We will also be voting on the proposed by-laws and constitution for the new Education Association . Hopefully we will have a name for the Association by then (because the new school board will have named the new district).

Contact an East-side Task Force member or the JEA office if you have comments, questions, or suggestions as this new Association comes into being. We have strength in numbers!  Talk to your colleagues about joining and helping to make our Association's voice strong.

The last chance to meet in person with the Education Transition Team will be Thursday, June 12 at 4:30 at Midvale Middle School (7852 South 310 West).   This team is anxious to hear the hopes and suggestions of teachers who will be in the new district.  You can also go to www.jordantransition.org to read information and leave comments.
